I am a horrible snacker while cooking, especially when baking. Any little nibble I can take I do. It’s a horrible habit!
My mom talked me into making this pineapple dessert that was literally a pineapple cut in half, the center scooped out and fiilled with a combination of sweetened condensed milk, coconut, almonds and ginger snap granola. Holy cow. The filing alone was amazing! Why do I like these things? Sweetened condensed milk is 130 calories for 2 tbs. Just taking a few bites here and there as I was preparing the actual dessert probably cost me at least 250 (probably more) calories. Sigh… how depressing!
